We love the weather and environment of this popular brunch spot at Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands. It is customary that when you head to Cameron Highlands, tea would be the drink of choice, considering this place is one of the world’s top-quality tea-producing regions.
However, if you must have your daily dose of coffee before indulging in tea, The Barracks may be just the place apart from your hotel coffee house. If you are within the town of Tanah Rata, your choice might be down to The Barracks and Scotts Cafe. There is still Jasmine Cafe and Lords Cafe; however, we had not noticed any espresso-based coffee.
Be sure to check out the “Today’s Special” before looking at the menu.
When we were day in May 2022, the espresso machine is still under maintenance, so you may have to settle for local kopi-o instead.
Operating Hours:
Monday – Sunday: 11AM – 8PM
It’s Cameron, so expect this place to be crowded on weekends and public holidays.
Scones are one of the recommended options.
Good and cooling outdoor seating.

Convenient parking along the road leading to the cafe.
